The Satchel Ford Elementary School Fine Arts Department and Steering Committee offers an arts enrichment program for SFES students one Saturday morning each month. Students played, drum set, steel drums, timbales, congas, jembe, bamboo and many other percussion instruments.

Finding Your Rhythm!
Dr. Lee conducted a hands-on West African Drum class for SC Artists. Students learned basic sound production, rhythms and improvisation ideas followed by a question and answer period. Thanks Katie Fox
Dr. Lee demonstrated drum set, conga, timbales, chac-chac, scratcher and iron rhythms followed by a fun hands-on experience for all attendees. Thanks to Zildjian, Innovative Percussion, Pearl and Evans Drumheads for your support and Davin Lail and Ryan Stokes for organizing the session!

Dr. Lee resumes principal percussion duties with the South Carolina Philharmonic Orchestra at 9/11 Remembrance Concert in Finlay Park
Music Director Morihiko Nakahara presents a stirring concert designed to honor those lost in the national tragedy 10 years ago. Works such as Barber’s Adagio for Strings will accompany patriotic musical favorites like “God Bless America” and the “Battle Hymn of the Republic” on the evening’s program.

The Jammers Rock the Okra Strut Parade!
The Fall 2011 Washington Street Jammers debut at the 2011 Okra Strut in Irmo, SC! After a huge thunderstorm with large amounts of rain, the skies cleared and we were soon surrounded by beauty queens, Chick fil-a Cows and a 10 ft tall Okra Man. We had a big time! Congrats Jammers!
